Our team of regional coordinators, each with their hands in local soil, able to adapt to the specific needs of their ecological and cultural homes, are accompanying communities, growers, and seed savers as they reclaim their rights to a climate-resilient food system.
Alongside an incredible network of seed guardians, spanning seed banks, libraries, cooperatives, companies, and breeders, our team is supporting biocultural diversity and knowledge revival across the UK & Ireland. By strengthening and weaving together local seed networks, we are creating the fertile conditions for a new living system of knowledge and resilience to emerge.
Working regionally, with and informed by a diversity of geographically spread seed custodians, we are:

Restoring vital seed saving knowledge and skills through our trainings

Reclaiming seed from agrochemical giants by supporting commercial growers to diversify into small-scale agroecological seed production

Conserving and reviving diverse, culturally relevant seed and the related knowledge and stories, through regional research and intergenerational learning

Improving the resilience of our food system by organising variety trials and participatory plant breeding

Increasing support for a fairer seed system through educating the public about the need for diverse, open-pollinated seed, where to buy them, and how to advocate for seed sovereignty

Resisting the current unjust system of corporate food production by influencing policymakers and seed legislation

Laying the foundations for a grower-led seed system by encouraging local seed initiatives and connecting up seed saving networks through peer-to-peer learning exchange
